About Victor Johnson
Why should anyone listen to what Victor Johnson has to say about music? Good question!
Music is a path and you can take any route you want. Everything in this site is meant to be helpful but it doesn’t mean I’m right or you should do it my way. Music is art so put your personal stamp on things please!
That being said, I do have a fair bit of knowledge and experience to share with people. Here are some things that I have done that have given me insights worth sharing.
I was raised by hippies and grew up listening to people making music around the house.
I learned to play a guitar that was laying around the house with help from friends. My first guitar came from a place called Red’s Trading Post. It was really hard to play and I had to walk six miles to my lesson but I was determined! I like to make it easy and fast for people to learn.
I worked in music stores as a teenager tuning, stringing and repairing guitars for years.
I’ve taught thousands of kids and adults to play guitar and ukulele.
I became a father and accidentally became a kids music artist.
I've released several award winning recordings and have appeared on a handful of International compilations.
I’ve performed hundreds of kid shows in schools, libraries and festivals. I've also run music camps and facilitated drumming and songwriting workshops.
I’ve placed music in film, television and radio.
My music has been downloaded and streamed several millions times.
I’ve probably done it all in the kids music arena. Now I want to share what I’ve learned and help people enjoy music with their kids and families.
To be completely honest, music probably saved my life. Now it’s time to give back. I hope you find something that helps. Need help? Make a request or ask a question on the contact form.
